15 15 aka Quinze Quinze is a five-member Paris based collective which draws inspiration from the global underground culture and mixes it with its Tahitian roots. Their music reflects the free-thinker spirit of an island that artists from all over the world would traditionally flee to in pursuit of inspiration. Julia, Tsi Min, Robin, Marvin and Ennio are building their unique style of “climatic music” since 2013 with the aim to tell stories of people who are often not given a voice in the western popular music. Each of their records is named after word in the traditional language spoken on Polynesian islands. For example, this year’s EP Saplin is titled after a word derived from the name of Charles Chaplin used to label a whacky person that doesn’t fit the labels of normality. The group is enthusiastically talked about in magazines such as Clash, Crack, Dazed, Resident Advisor or Pitchfork and the last of the named invited them to the London edition of its festival.
