Anki is an exceptional appearance on the Czech rap scene, he doesn’t need the genre’s clichés, rather enchants through his authentic storytelling of life that wasn’t always great but can still have a happy ending. On his debut Saigon Stories in 2020 he started rapping in Vietnamese although it isn’t his native language and his following Czech cuts delve deeper into memories of growing up and puberty. The last year’s record I Want To Feel Safe is the ending to a notional trilogy and confidently balances between rap and electronica. It got Anki nominated for a Vinyla, Anděl and Apollo awards.
