Jamie Roberts aka Blawan belongs to the absolute peak of contemporary British club music. He is split between many contemporary mutations of post-dubstep, UK bass and techno. He grew up in a small town in the north of England and has enthusiastically played drums since his childhood. It can be heard in his producer music that draws from the straight-forwardness of techno but often ties the straight beat into unexpected knots. Blawan debuted in 2010, was featured on renowned labels such as Hessle Audio, R&S Records or XL Recordings, the biggest part of his body of work, however, came out under his own label Ternesc. This is where his 2018 debut album Wet Willl Always Dry, filled with dark techno and greatly influenced by life in Berlin, came out. He remixed Radiohead and often collaborates – together with Pariah under the Karenn and newly Persher alias – in February they released an album. Another project of his, together with the legendary Surgeon, is Trade. He recently relocated from Berlin back to Leeds.
