His debut album Famous Last Words was released only last year but his career reaches all the way back to the middle of the 00s when he belonged to Tottenham’s grime scene as a teenager. Casisdead rarely speaks of his early years in the music industry, his career CV has many blank spots and he is better known about from the year 2012 when he released the raw The Number 23 mixtape. He then collaborated with Giggs or Tricky and was talked about with admiration by Dizzee Rascal and ASAP Rocky before he disappeared for a few years again. He reappeared with the album Famous Last Words which was released under XL Recordings. On it, he worked together with Johnny Jewel (Glass Candy, Chromatics) or Kyle Dixon who composed music for Stranger Things and the record innovatively mixes rap with 80s synth-pop. The main ingredient, however, are Casisdead’s macabre lyrics full of stories about life on the streets.
