There is no labelling this unorthodox groove powerhouse. The German two-piece Modeselektor (Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary) keeps the spirit of the 90s Berlin techno scene alive, while thoroughly facing the future and disrespecting all genres. One of Thom Yorke’s (Radiohead) favourite bands ,they collaborate with colleague Apparat on the Moderat project and run the influential label Monkeytown Records.

Despite the fact that the entire world has had multiple chances to see their music circus, Modeselektor don’t like to take themselves very seriously and often hide a tad of Dadaist humour in their compositions. Their 2019 album Who Else has yet again proven that even after a quarter of a century, they are still a leading force in electronic music. They work together with young musicians such as Flohio or Tommy Cash. The most recent record is as an antidote to boredom and predictability. After years the veterans have come back to kick the behinds of all those who need it. Somebody has to do it. Who Else?
