Monika Načeva started in theatre, notably at the end of the 80s in the Divadlo Sklep theatre and has played in a handful of films as well. Her full-blown music career begun in 1994 with the record Možnosti tu sou…, on which she sets Jáchym Topol’s texts to music. The following albums Nebe je rudý, Mimoid or Fontanella have led her into the realm of experimental trip hop or alternative chanson where she operates to this day. Her so far latest album Jdem temným dnem continues her project of setting poems of artists persecuted by the communist regime, such as Vladimíra Čepková, Ivan Blatný or Věra Jirousová, to music. The poem by Egon Bondy has given the album a name. On the album, Načeva has surrounded herself with musicians from all over the Czech alternative scene such as Zdeněk Regál Jurčík, Vojtěch Procházka and Michal Koval.
