HRTL

The Brno based king of modular synths. Leoš Hort aka HRTL is a part of the Bastl Instruments crew and has released albums Dataloss (which he won an Anděl award for), Yellow Mellow and Hotspot.

He is also the founder of the Bükko Tapes cassette label which takes care of Eastern European “bedroom” producers and was a moving force of the Noise.Kitchen. HRTL begun playing traditional instruments but since the moment he got a whiff of modular synths, he swears on repetitive rhythms, shifting atmospheres and playful structures. It is also true that he plays nothing twice – his performances are a hundred percent improvised. He made an appearance in the Rytíři bastlíři documentary about electronic handypeople and he frequently plays abroad (Ars Electronica, DAVE, Pohoda). He also often joins powers with musician friends, the latest of his collaborations are his performances with Beata Hlavenková.
