Nation of Language

Brooklyn’s Nation of Language speak in the calm tongue of synth-pop, with a distinct post-punk accent.

They carry an ’80s spark, yet fit perfectly into the melancholic moods of today’s alternative pop. Since their debut Introduction, Presence, they’ve worked their way up to the latest album Dance Called Memory, released on the legendary Sub Pop label. From perfectly lathe-turned electronics in the spirit of Kraftwerk, they’ve been leaning more and more toward the humanist vibe of Brian Eno. Empathy instead of resignation: this band knows how to be contemporary and vintage at the same time.
