Island Mint

In the clearing where The Beach Boys and The Mamas & the Papas used to garden, new little flowers have sprung up.

They were planted there by the whimsical indie rockers Island Mint, and ever since their debut Irreality they’ve been watering them with sun-soaked vibes and fertilising them with trace amounts of shoegaze and ’90s indie. “La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la/ Shangri-La/ ’Cause life is so easy,” they say. And with their music, it really is — even though they’ve subtly toughened up on their second record Slun. The mood at the Velodrom will be / is good.
